Day 42 on the Trail

Today wasn't the best weather wise but we made the most out of it. We did 8 miles to Rice Field Shelter in the pouring rain, it wouldn't have been too bad other than we wasn't wearing our rain gear and we got soaked. Being completely wet and having temperatures in the 50's means you get cold really quick. So when we arrived at this shelter at 10:30 I figured we would just have an early lunch, but as we ate we got super cold. I didn't want to get back out in the rain and get any colder so we decided to just take the day as a relax day and try again tomorrow.

One cool thing about today though, we did meet a lot of hikers. Billy Goat is who we hiked with this morning to the shelter. He decided to continue on while we stayed. Three others stayed at the shelter with us though one was named Rocket Man and the other two I can't quite remember. They were all really nice and we got to talk about the trail and the weather. Most of the time though was spent sleeping. They slept for a while and we tried to as well that way tomorrow we could put some miles down.

Mentally it was a tough day, the rain kind of brings you down. Physically on the other had was great after a for longer days, this break was nice. It will put us close on food for getting to our next resupply but that will be alright. Spirituality I'm doing great, today's weather was demoralizing but other than that I'm thankful God gave me the opportunity to do this. I know I'm growing every day from this and I hope that through this journey others will be helped as well!

Please keep us in your prayers! I'm so thankful for all that's following along and encouraging us! It truly is a help out here especially on days like today.
