Day 38 on the Trail

Today ended up being a great day out here! This morning we decided to sleep in a little and took our time getting out of the motel. After packing up and eating the donuts we had bought for breakfast we left around 9:30 and planned on hiking until we were tired.

Leaving the motel this morning I was struggling mentally. The forecast called for a rainy nasty day and I really was missing home. With each step this morning I was questioning whether or not I felt like God was still calling me to be out here. So I spent most of the morning in prayer. I prayed that Gods will be done through me whether it was on or off the trail.

Around mid-day it all changed though, I realized it still was great weather, I was able to talk to Kelsey (My Girlfriend), and I got to listen to some great uplifting music. My mindset completely flipped to being more along the lines of thankful for the beautiful weather. The ability to be out here with opportunities to further the kingdom of God is humbling. By praying this morning I feel like God really opened my eyes to the purpose of this journey. In sad times its way to lose focus, but I've found that prayer is what helps me regain the focus I need.

After the day had took a turn for the better we saw a buddy we had been hiking with a week ago. Easy Mack, he had caught back up to us after taking a zero day at a friends lake house. We also got to see Goat again and actually he is camping with us tonight along with a guy named Speedy which we hiked with throughout the first few weeks. I actually think they are hiking around the same pace as us and I'm thinking we could stick with them until I come back home for Kelsey's graduation. Then maybe Ee can catch back up to them later.

Through the ups and the downs of the trail, I'm still so glad to be out here. I can tell there is a ton more work to be done out here! Thanks for all the support and encouragement back home! It is always appreciated. God bless!
