Day 37 on the Trail

Relaxation sums up today in one word! We did what they call a "nero" on the trail today. A nero is just a day where you don't hike to many miles or "nearly zero" miles. So today we hiked 4.7 miles into a small town outside of Atkins VA. to a older motel.

Because of it being a relax day we decided to get up early and try to get to the motel early. We arrived around 9:30 at the Relax Inn. On the way we passed an awesome old school building that was built in the 1890's. We took a moment to stop in and check out this school museum place, it still had all the desks and chalkboards up. There was also some trail magic in the building. Sodas, little Debbie's, fruit you name it, it was there. What a great way to start the morning.

After making it to the motel we checked in early and stretched out on the bed for a while until lunch came. Around lunchtime we took showers and put some clothes on to wash. As the clothes were drying we went to the barn which was a restaurant right up the road. We heard they had an awesome burger so I decided to try it. It was a 1lb burger with cheese and bacon on it. I didn't think it would be enough so I added a slawdog with it. The lunch was phenomenal!

After lunch we got a ride to dollar general for a few supplies. Also finished up laundry. We found a good movie on tv and took a nice nap. Waking up around 5:30 we decided to order some pizza from Pizza Hut. After 2 hours of waiting we got a call that said they didn't deliver this far out from the store (7.6 miles away) so we had to settle for the Hunts Brothers Pizza from the gas station.

Our day was pretty uneventful but it was much needed. Just being able to relax and have a bath with epsom salt made a world of difference with my bodies aches and pains. Tomorrow we plan to get back at it and I'm super excited! Hopefully tomorrow will bring a bunch of opportunities to share the good news of Christ!

Thanks for all the love and support!
